About

We began as a spark of an idea in 2007 after seeing the need for a theatre that represented the Polish diaspora in Ireland and an eventual institution that could merge the qualities of both Polish and Irish theatre culture to create a new cross breed theatre in Dublin. Scent of Chocolate is the result of 11 months preparation artistically and in terms of production and we are so proud to finally be lifting the curtain on our very first production.

The Consular Section of the Embassy of Poland kindly funded us and have supported the project, along with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute who have funded the journey of our writer Radoslaw Paczocha.

We would like to thank many folks who have supported us to get to this stage, Nikola Sekowska in the Embassy of Poland has been very helpful, as has Joe Devlin of Focus Theatre, who has given us space in the theatre when we had no resources. Prestige Dance School and Underground Dance School have also been amazing, offering space and vouchers for our fundraising raffle. The Polish Bakery and Hair Spa also helped us greatly with donations of vouchers for our fundraising. And to the Gin Palace on Middle Abbey Street for giving us their venue for the Fundraiser.

The cast and crew have all lovingly given their time on the project in exchange for the experience, and we hope that this dedication shines through in the show. Thanks to all of our friends and family also who have supported us through the ‘tearing our hair out’ stages of the process. We hope you enjoy our show and our website.
